Resumen

It is of fundamental importance that we have an understanding of the environmental impacts related to tourism. The present work has as main objective to list the positive and negative impacts of the tourist activity in Patu Mountain Range, Patu city / RN, through an interaction matrix. Field visits were made in november 2019 and january 2020, for photographic and socio-environmental records, delimitation of the area and verification of environmental impact indicators. In addition to a bibliographic analysis, in scientific articles, books and websites. The records served as a basis for the elaboration of the adapted interaction matrix of Leopold, which identifies the environmental impacts arising from the tourist activity developed in the place. It was possible to verify that the most serious impacts are related to the accumulation of solid residues left by tourists or visitors, causing soil pollution. However, it is seen that the tourist exploration space of Patu Mountain Range needs greater care and prevention and maintenance actions in the area, such as the installation of more dumps, the adoption of environmental education, inspection and control of the activities developed.
