PREFERENCIAS PAISAJÍSTICAS DE LOS ESTUDIANTES BRASILEÑOS SOBRE DESARROLLOS TURÍSTICOS EN EL LITORAL NORTE DE CUBA

This paper presents the preliminary results of a landscape preferences study of Brazilian students on tourist developments in Cayo Santa María (Villa Clara, Cuba). The main objective was to compare the general preferences on landscapes with and without tourist infrastructures, as well as to determine if there are differences with the evaluations obtained in a previous analysis, carried out by an experts' group decision making method. To carry out this study, an online questionnaire was prepared and executed, with 20 photographs of different landscape units in the study area, with and without hotel buildings. The questionnaire was applied online during the 2020 academic year in students from 11 Brazilian universities. Preliminary results show that the score received by the units with hotels was lower, with an overall difference of around 1 negative point, similar to that established by the panel of experts. However, for those cases that deviated from this average, possible explanatory causes are included.
